Bored Athenians is a group weblog comprised of several unsavory characters, all of whom may or may not live in Athens, Georgia.

It all began with an email…

Several emails, actually. All quite funny, informative and fruitless, and tossed gallantly about between three equally bored friends:Evil Overload, Sheni Fonler, and Ennui.

The blog itself started when the Evil Overload decided that these three friends should share their genius with the world. On October 1, 2003, the second Bored Athenians post was made. No one speaks of the first post. In fact, to do so is forbidden, so don’t even ask.

That’s all well and good, but who gives a shit?

Exactly.

Are all of the members who post to BA from Athens?

Nah. Only two that we know of. Currently, only six active members reside in Athens; two live on the outskirts, one lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn, one lives in Las Vegas, and one lives in England. We don’t know about the rest.

Why is BA considered an Athens blog if not all of the members are from Athens?

We don’t know, but we like to think of Bored Athenians as more of a state of mind than of place. It’s all semantics, really.

Nine times out of ten, we get our stuff from this place called the internet. The rest of it comes straight out of our asses. Pay attention. We link to our sources.

Yes, but we don’t let them.

What is the Athens Found Collective?

The AFC was started by Bailywolf. It is a group of people who get together every so often for beer and/or coffee. But mostly they go out and search the city for things to contribute to Found Magazine.
